At the northern edge. At the heart of the game.

A rugby story measured in journeys, shared grounds and the effort it takes to bring people together.

Far North rugby with deep roots

Te Hāpua’s rugby story reaches back through generations. In September 1934, its juniors won a championship contest at Houhora after more than 20 minutes of extra time.

The work behind the welcome

In February 2025, Te Hapua Sports and Recreation Club secured a $17,250 council grant for drainage around its clubrooms and field. Keeping a ground ready is part of keeping a community connected.

A place in the game

The away trips, the team photographs and the whānau behind every season are part of Te Hāpua’s rugby heritage. This is a place for those memories to be carried forward.
